Welcome to my website. I am a Para Equestrian Dressage Rider and this website is dedicated to my journey.

I won three medals at the London 2012 Paralympics, individually a silver and bronze and I also helped the Irish team to secure team bronze. In 2011 I claimed Irelands first European Para Equestrian medal, winning bronze in the Grade 1a Individual Test. Here hoping I can continue my success!

My Para Equestrian journey began in 2008, where I was riding at Grade III and due to the progressive nature of my condition my classification has changed considerably. In July 2010, I was classified as a 1a, the most disabled category. This meant that there was no where else to go. Since being classified as a 1a, I have had great success culminating in winning three medals at the London Paralympics.

Since my diagnosis of Friedreich’s Ataxia in 2002, horses have been a huge part of life. Horse-riding and the physical activity that goes hand in hand with it, is what is keeping me walking. But more than that, it has given me a reason to keep fighting. Friedreich’s Ataxia is a tough realisation to be left with, one which doesn’t get any easier with time. Horse-riding and competing in Para Equestrian sport has given me so much of what this rare disease takes away.

I hope you find this website interesting and informative!
